Times of Change: How to Thrive in Today's Economy (part 2)
Let's take a quick look at the path we've trodden to this point, what it's taught us and what we've created as a result...
I've taught for years that "energy flows where attention goes." In other words, your continuous and consistent thoughts, feelings, and actions—what I call going "3 for 3"—will bring into your life the results that resonate, correspond and harmonize with those energies. What you focus on expands.
For almost eight years now, the United States has focused primarily upon terror. Therefore sending this call of terror to the universe, we've received exactly what we asked for. The mind cannot process a negative—nor can the energy of your "3 for 3" vibration field (thoughts, feeling, actions). In other words, if I tell you "don't think about how crappy the economy is right now. Or, don't think about going broke." I know exactly what you must think about. You have to think about what not to think about just to make sense of the sentence. Do you follow?
Our individual and collective mind always thinks, feels and eventually acts in the affirmative. So a "war on terror" actually fans the flames of terror even more powerfully. And isn't it interesting that while there have been no major terrorist acts on the United States since 2001, our consistent focus on terror has created more terror than we've ever before experienced.
You may argue that no one has attacked us like they did on 9/11, and you're right—we've attacked ourselves. Now this is not some metaphysical theory, it's just a basic law of the universe that makes total sense as you stop and think about it.
Think about the person who focuses his entire attention upon his business and totally ignores his health. Never exercising, eating fast foods, smoking and drinking, living in high stress with very little sleep while he continues to work and run faster and faster. Eventually, that which is completely ignored is going to catch up with you. A lack of harmony in life's issues causes greater and greater disharmony.
Contrary to popular opinion the answer is not a new president (sorry to burst your bubble). Nor is a full-on focus on economic issues excluding all else the answer. You, like me, know there's always a full spectrum of life issues that must be managed. And harmony of the mix is the key to long-term success and fulfillment. That's true Harmonic Wealth.
The answer lies in a fundamental shift in consciousness and the subsequent collective shift in our "3 for 3" strategy... Remember, "3 for 3" is your thoughts, feelings, and actions. And if you want to create anything you desire and deserve, you don't have to change situations around you. You attract and create your own situations based upon your "3 for 3." Change your consistent thoughts, feelings and actions, you change your life.
Now I know there's a lot of negative buzz about the economy right now, but Peter Lynch, one of the greatest investors of all time, once said, "I don't spend more than 15 minutes per year paying attention to the economy."
What has to happen for you to stop looking at what the world is doing and create your own world? Think that sounds "Pollyanna" or idealistic? Think again.
Let me tell you about a couple that I work with named Horace and Nikki. Horace and Nikki are a married couple who are graduates of my Harmonic Wealth Weekend. They own a high-end clothing boutique in San Diego. So, I was speaking with Horace just this month and asking him how business was doing. "Never better," he replied. "We're looking to open another store." I told him that was great and asked to what he credited his success with so much economic negativity in the air.
He began to tell me how he and his wife decided to begin negotiating with their buyers to purchase with cash versus credit. According to Horace, almost no retailers buy on a cash basis, and therefore, they're able to negotiate a deep discount on all their purchases. As a result, they save thousands of dollars, and they can then sell their high-end designer fashions at a discounted price to their customers with plenty of margin to spare. Their business is not being created by the psychology of the market... They're creating their own market.
Remember it's never about having enough resources. It's about being resourceful. There are always plenty of resources if you know how to be innovative enough to grab them... Horace and Nikki are resourceful.
So ask yourself where you're possibly stuck right now... Thinking there's only one way to succeed... Doing the same old things you've always done and trying to get better results. Get resourceful. Stop looking outside and look inside. You'll be surprised how quickly your life will transform.
To your continued wealth and happiness,
